Konica Minolta Business Solutions, a global leader in advanced imaging and networking technologies, recently organised Printology Xperts, a dedicated event for its MGI customers, in New Delhi. Held on June 16, 2018, at Crown Plaza in Okhla, the event was attended by commercial and packaging printers from Delhi along with senior leadership team, including Mr. Daisuke Mori, Managing Director – Konica Minolta Business Solutions Pvt Ltd, Mr. Manish Gupta National Marketing Manager – Konica Minolta Business Solutions Pvt Ltd., and Mr. Ashok Sethi General Manager – Sales-PPDC/IDC, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt. Printology Xperts has installed the latest version of the MGI JETvarnish 3D Digital Spot UV and inline IFOIL system – a digital solution designed for personalised 3D spot coating and embossed hot foil stamping applications. Commenting on the investment in MGI’s JETvarnish 3D & IFOIL, Mr. Kamal Malik, Founder – Printology Xperts, said, “Printing requirements are changing rapidly, and it is time for print and printing businesses to evolve in step with this new paradigm. The JETvarnish 3D and IFOIL utilise MGI’s patented inkjet and hot foil stamping technology to provide digital spot UV coating in plain 2D and 3D (with thickness of up to 200 microns) and embossed foil textured effects in one pass. The digital spot UV coating process is 100% variable data capable, with barcode reader options that enable custom spot varnished prints with unique graphics, text, and numeric data.

At the event, Konica Minolta showcased various innovative and high-quality MGI samples created on MGI equipment by Printology Xperts. The sample prints incorporated a wide range of print embellishments and special effects which were unattainable through traditional printing technologies.

Konica Minolta, a global leader in advanced imaging and networking technologies, has expanded its production printer portfolio in India by adding another stellar printing solution, the AccurioPress C3080. The mid-production printer series has been unveiled by Konica Minolta at the Print Expo 2018 in Chennai, demonstrating the capabilities of the new Accurio Press C3080 . The new press is more productive and is more flexible to handle variety of applications.

The launch of the AccurioPress C3080 digital series introduces a new line of production printing systems from Konica Minolta in India and is aimed at combining the superlative quality and performance of previous models with additional features. The AccurioPress C3080 supports auto-duplex banner printing up to 762 mm and delivers significantly higher print speeds of 81 ppm and 45 ppm (both monochrome and color) for A4 and A3 print jobs, respectively. It also ensures better consistency in terms of productivity; the A4 printing speed is consistent at 81 ppm for thickness of up to 216gsm, and at 51 ppm for paper thickness between 217gsm and 350gsm. The mid-production printer also has a maximum sheet capacity of 15,390 A4 sheets of 80gsm, and supports the full range of in-line finishing options.

Amongst the various new features added by Konica Minolta is the new IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Optimiser. IQ-501 provides automated and real-time quality controls – including registration, front-to-back alignment, image gradation, and density – for unparalleled print consistency. It additionally delivers automated color adjustments and allows for the creation of printer profiles with skill-less operations to eliminate input time and drastically reduce printing errors.

The AccurioPress C3080 also comes equipped with a new color dual scanner capable of operating at up to 240ipm, along with a double-feed detection kit to avoid scanning two sheets at once. Moreover, the Air Suction feeding mechanism employed by Konica Minolta reduces paper jam through an additional paper tray (PF 710), in addition to three PF-707 trays, for increased uptime, stable paper feed capability, and better productivity. The inclusion of a relay unit (RU-518) also eliminates paper curl.

All these features make the AccurioPress C3080 perfect for print service providers catering to entry-level production requirements, while also enabling it to deliver higher productivity and top-of-the-line duty cycles (up to 865k) required for mid-level production environments. Capable of handling various media such as coated and embossed papers, it helps print and printing businesses to benefit from more – and better – business opportunities. Its multifunctional design and large capacity unit are well-suited for banner printing jobs such as book covers and three-fold menus, catalogues, and sales promotion tools, while also enabling a faster, efficient, and more cost-effective envelope production process.
